How much does it cost?

Under The Age of 22

Any Saskatchewan resident under the age of 22 has the option to register as a full-time online learner with the DLC and receive access to our courses free of charge.

Over the Age of 22

If a student is 22 or older, the cost for each regular Sun West course is $500.

How Does It Work?

Students log into their courses to read the course material and watch course videos.

They will then work on the corresponding assignments and, when finished, submit them to their teacher. Teachers will be available during the school day through email, phone, or online video to answer any questions. The material will be marked and sent back to the student with feedback. Quizzes and tests will be arranged between the teacher and student to be written at a time that works best.

A final exam (and occasionally a midterm exam) will need to be supervised by a professional outside of your family. This person can be local to your area. There is no need to travel to the DLC or a major centre to write your exams. Your teacher will provide you with more details regarding proctor requirements toward the end of the course.

What is the time Commitment?

Each course is designed to be about 100 hours of course work—which is equivalent to an hour a day, five days a week for a semester. Our courses are available any time of the day or night, so you won’t have to be sitting at a certain place at a certain time to be successful.

How will I Stay on Track?

A course schedule will be provided for you for each of your classes that will give you a guideline for completing your course on time. If you fall behind, your teacher will be in touch to help you with tools for getting caught up and staying on track.

Are you only a few credits short?

If you are close to graduating and only need a few courses to complete your diploma, the Regular High School program might be a better fit for you.
